Rehabilitating Roads the Smart Way—with Tensar® Glasstex® R60N+C

The client needed to extend the service life of the existing pavement whilst controlling costs, reducing future maintenance frequency, and meeting Abu Dhabi’s sustainable infrastructure objectives. Rehabilitation was preferred over full reconstruction to preserve existing assets and optimise lifecycle value.

Tensar® Glasstex® R60N+C asphalt reinforcement was installed as an interlayer between the existing pavement and new asphalt overlay to control reflective cracking and reduce maintenance costs. The solution extended pavement service life, minimised future interventions, and delivered a durable, cost-effective rehabilitation without full reconstruction — preserving existing infrastructure and reducing whole-life costs across Abu Dhabi’s Dhafra Region.
