The client required a ground bearing concrete slab for their warehouse floor to support stacked container loads. However, poor ground conditions raised concerns about bearing capacity and differential settlement, especially given past issues with differential settlement in similar facilities.
Tensar proposed a mechanically stabilised granular layer (MSL) incorporating a Tensar H-Series stabilisation geogrid to enhance bearing capacity of the granular layer under the concrete slab. The Tensar MSL would also mitigate differential settlement and optimise construction layers. This solution offered a durable, cost-effective alternative to conventional ground improvement methods, tailored to meet the project’s structural and performance requirements.
