THE PROBLEM

To maximize the use of the sloping land surrounding the new factory units, as well as enabling  construction of an access road within the boundary constraints.

THE SOLUTION

The developer chose the TensarTech Mesa system as a cost effective option, which allowed for ease of construction and met the design requirements with an attractive architectural finish.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

The TensarTech Mesa Retaining Wall created the grade separation to overcome the naturally sloping land. The wall is composed of two sections of 163m and 22m in length. The height of the construction is variable, up to a maximum height of 4m. For the backfill, a combination of local material (granite alluvium) and crushed stone 0/63 mm was used. The contractor also had to work within very restricted construction space adjacent to the factory unit under construction at the same time.
