Ground Stabilisation
Ground Stabilisation Ground stabilisation can be a challenge for engineers, when the structures listed above are to be sited over weak or variable ground and Tensar geogrids are high performance solutions to these challenges, which meet environmental and economic constraints. To save on excavation and materials, a reinforcement of the granular base layer with a Tensar geogrid allows the overall construction depth to be reduced.
A positive and strong interlock is created when granular material is compacted over Tensar SS geogrid and it partially penetrates and projects through the apertures. The high tensile stiffness of Tensar geogrids allows load to be developed at very low strains. Several hundred million square metres of Tensar geogrids have been successfully incorporated into a wide range of sites under diverse working and climatic conditions, since 1980.
The Benefits Major cost savings, combined with considerable performance benefits in granular capping and sub-base layers are some of the benefits of Tensar SS geogrids.
