IS0 14001 Environmental Certification
Tensar meets ISO 14001 environmental standards
Part of Tensar International’s continuing investment of resources and production processes improvements include the main manufacturing site in
Shadsworth, Blackburn being certified as ‘Operating an Environmental Management System, which complies with the requirements of BS EN ISO
14001:2004 and the Certificate No. is EMS 86463.
Geogrids for soil reinforcement and ground stabilisation projects supplied by Tensar International are often supplied to projects where the
environmental considerations are often significant and having this prestigious accreditation is highly important.
Achieving high quality results that are sensitive to the location and the ability to demonstrate how to use environmentally scarce materials to clients
is one of the benefits of Tensar International having excellent 'green' credentials. For example, we have done some recent restoration work on important
salmon and sea trout rivers in Scotland and Wales, where they run through old industrial and colliery workings.
It was very important to demonstrate full environmental responsibility, with a manufacturing process, which is based on polypropylene as a raw
material. Our continued investments into improving recycling and best site practices have really paid off.
